Le Nord, avec toutes ses couleurs et ses images, constitue une influence centrale dans mes paysages impressionnistes. J’ai passé de longues heures à peindre les chutes Cameron, les nombreux lacs des environs de Yellowknife, ainsi que la vieille ville. La beauté sauvage de ces lieux m’inspire à peindre.
Je me suis installé à Yellowknife en 2002 pour enseigner l’art dramatique à l’école secondaire Sir John Franklin. Dans le cadre du programme de théâtre, j’ai l’occasion de donner vie à une pièce en la mettant en scène. Année après année, il m’est des plus gratifiant de voir les productions prendre corps sur les planches – de la première à la dernière représentation, mes efforts se trouvent largement récompensés.
Mon art continue de changer et d’évoluer au fil de mes idées, de mes expériences, et de mon inspiration. Je suis extrêmement reconnaissant à tous ceux qui ont acheté de mes œuvres, et qui continuent d’en acheter.

Landon Peters was born in Saskatoon and though he has lived for a time in Vancouver, in Seattle and in Los Angeles he is presently teaching drama and art in Yellowknife. While in Vancouver, Landon studied at the Emily Carr College of Art and Design; in Seattle, he attended Shoreline College; in Los Angeles, he earned a degree from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts; his degree in Education was earned in Saskatchewan. He has appeared in various film and television projects and, in Yellowknife, he has produced various musicals including "Saturday Night Fever", "Grease", "Footloose", "West Side Story" and “The Little Mermaid”.
Landon has always had a strong interest in the visual arts, experimenting with various media early in high school and college. In the summer of 2000 he began a conscious effort to focus on and explore subject matter pertaining to rural Saskatchewan and since moving to the North in 2002 has been challenged by the rugged northern imagery in and around Yellowknife.
“The North is full of imagery and color and is a huge influence on the impressionist style of my landscapes. I spend a lot of time painting Cameron Falls, various lakes around Yellowknife, and the Old Town area. There is a rawness and beauty in those images that inspire my canvases.
I came to Yellowknife in 2002 to teach drama at Sir John Franklin High School. With the drama program, I get to direct, create, and breathe life into a project. Year after year, it is incredibly gratifying to see productions come alive on stage. From the beginning stages to closing night, it is always well worth the effort.
My art continues to change and evolve with new ideas, experiences and inspirations. I’m grateful for the support of those who have and continue to purchase my work.”
