Histoire de l'artiste

I heard drumming for the first time when I was two years old. It has always been an important part of my life, and to this day, it is still my favourite way to spend my time.

Growing up in Délįne, traditional drumming is handed down through the generations from the community’s Elders. I learned to drum when I was 18, and I have been involved in several drumming groups since then. Recently, I have been drumming with the Thebacha drummers in Fort Smith, where I now reside to study at Aurora College.

What inspires me the most is the traditional aspect of drumming. It has been a tradition for many generations and it’s something I take pride in participating in and in sharing with the community. I have also been really interested in learning the art of drum making and am hopefully going to be able to make my own drum one day.
