On Wednesday, September 15 the Inuit Art Foundation is hosting a live virtual talk “Music within Inuit Culture and Language” featuring James Dommek Jr., Byron Nicholai and Julia Ogina and moderated by Tiffany Ayalik. The conversation will discuss the importance of featuring Indigenous language in music, as well as songs, words, and sounds that exist within Inuit culture.

Conversations is a series of six live webinars across 2021 bringing together Canadian and Alaska Inuit for moderated discussions with audience participation, providing information and insights on subjects important to Indigenous communities. The events are recorded on Zoom, and the edited videos are posted on the IAF website and on the SASC-AK YouTube channel and Smithsonian Learning Lab site.
