2021/2022 Northwestel Directory Cover Art Competition

Northwestel is proud to support a thriving and diverse northern arts community. Every year, they look forward to collaborating with northern artists on various initiatives, one of which is the Northwestel Directory Cover Art Competition!

They are accepting submissions until October 4, 2020 for the following telephone directory covers; Nunavut, Northwest Territories and Yukon/Northern BC.

Submit your artwork here for a chance to win $5,000 and a spot on the cover of the directory in your area.

Entrants must be current residents of Northwestel’s operating area (Nunavut, NWT, northern BC and Yukon). Artists whose work has appeared on a Northwestel directory cover in the last four years are not eligible to enter. Works to be considered must be two-dimensional original, hand-rendered artwork (such as acrylic, oil, watercolour, silkscreen, etc.), digital visual art works (such as digital painting, drawing or computer-generated still imagery) or three-dimensional works (such as sculptures and carvings). Although photography is considered an art form, we are not seeking this type of artwork at this time for the directory covers. The artwork cannot already have been previously published, reproduced in any format or exhibited. The artist should not have future plans to sell, publish, reproduce or exhibit the artwork. A maximum of two pieces may be submitted by each artist.

How to Enter

Entries must be received by October 4, 2020. Late entries cannot be considered, due to the production schedule of the telephone directories. Winners in each territory will be notified by October 16, 2020. Entrants who were not selected as prize winners will not be contacted, please continue with any plans for your artwork. Winning directory cover art will be officially revealed in Spring 2021.
