Hello I am Kit,

I am a Dene woman from Tulita in the Sathu Region of the NWT. Having been raised mostly in the Sahtu/Deh Cho Regions during childhood; I moved to the capital to further my education. On one cold night in 2014, I decided to start a hobby and recalled my favorite class as a child being Slavey Class. The memory of making my first beading loom was one I never forgot; however, never had the time to enjoy again. After a few projects, I realized my passion for creating these beautiful pieces, and the joy I got from seeing another person wearing them. It's been nearly a decade since that night, and I continue to bead not just to create anymore, but to reconnect with my culture and share my knowledge.
