The NWT Creative Collective was formed in 2015 in order to foster artistic creativity and opportunities in the Northwest Territories, Canada. While serving our community’s youth is at our core, our events have quickly become an integral part of Yellowknife’s annual arts calendar.

Arts presence in our community does not just increase the quality of life. Access to arts impacts mental health, youth development, and awakens passions we never knew we had. The presence of arts is essential to the health of a community.

Additionally, the NWTCC firmly believes that art is work, and artists deserve to be paid a living wage for their work. NWTCC is dedicated to providing emerging and established artists with economic opportunities from performances to workshops.

NWT Creative Collective was founded on principles of inclusivity, and we work hard to ensure all our workshops and events are safe spaces that work towards decolonizing art spaces.

NWTCC strives to provide accessible events, workshops and spaces where people can connect, learn, share, network and express themselves through art. Our current programming includes:

  • Annual Halloween Event
  • Track Lab (DJ workshop series for youth)
  • Creation Space (workshop series hosting artists of all mediums)
  • Qmunity Camp NWT in partnership with the Rainbow Coalition of Yellowknife (an arts summer camp for LGBTQ+, questioning and allied youth)
  • Folk on the Rocks Youth Showcase

We are always looking for more artists and arts mediums to include in our programming, if you have a talent that you’re looking to spotlight or share please let us know!
