Artist Story

As a member of the Dogrib (Tłı̨chǫ) First Nation, Archie viewed his art as a continuation of his cultural heritage, passed down to him by his grandmother. Through his distinctive abstract style, he depicted northern wildlife and Dene legends, expressing both tradition and personal vision in his work.

His art was exhibited widely at numerous shows and galleries around the world. His work was also held in prestigious collections, including those of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Pope John Paul II. Over time, Archie became recognized as one of the most well-known Dene artists.

His legacy endures through his artwork, which continues to reflect his creativity, cultural knowledge, and deep connection to his heritage.
