The Ulukhaktok Arts Centre has spent decades employing local artisans from the community. Formally the Holman Print Shop, the Centre produces prints, muskox carvings, qiviut products and other traditional items.

Established in 1979, we have actively promoted sales of books relating to the North and promoting Indigenous authors. From Day 1, it was our hope that eventually that "Northern" material would be written by Northerners. Today a good number of the books we sell are written by, or in collaboration with, Northern residents. We were proud and excited in helping to found "Northwords Festival" and work diligently to promote and foster Northern writers and writing.
